Organisational issues

  • Please observe the submission deadlines for your literature lists: for the summer semester – up until the 1st March and for the winter semester – up until the 1st September. It might be possible that literature lists turned in after deadline cannot be dealt with immediately.
  • First register at Stud.IP.
  • You can find out how to do this on the web pages of ELSA (i.e. E-learning service department). Your course will be adopted from the  university calendar of (HIS-LSF). If your course is not included, please contact your  HIS-LSF-agent.
  • In the case of questions refer to your institute administrator for Stud.IP.

Legal

  • The legal basis for making available electronic documents without approval by the copyright holder and for illustration purposes during teaching (§ 52a UrhG) (i.e. German copyright law) has been extended to 31 December 2014.
  • Without approval by the copyright holder no books are allowed to be placed in electronic networks. Permitted is solely the making available of approx. 15% of complete works. Included here are e.g. individual chapters of a book or journal articles. The works to be digitized must belong to the library's collection.
  • An important condition for making digital works available in electronic course reserves is that the library holds a license for this. However, documents from the data banks Juris and Beck-Online cannot be made available this way. In the case of freely available Internet sources it is necessary to name the copyright holder.

Scope of the semester material:

Up to 20 titles (journal articles, individual chapters of a book) can be made available per course via StudIP for the duration of a semester.
