Lending and interlibrary loans

Media that you have ordered from storage or reserved volumes are kept available for you at the circulation desks.

Media which are located in the freely accessible areas of our library can be simply taken by you from the shelves. You can post the media using our self-service posting machines near the circulation desks. If there are no machines or if you have questions, please consult our personnel at the circulation desk.

For disabled users with a disability degree of at least 50% are granted extended lending periods upon presentation of a disability pass. This extended initial lending period is 90 days. Subsequently, up to 6 extensions of 4 weeks each are possible if there are no reservations. Overnight loans are extended to a period of three days, but it is not possible to renew such loans. Users who would like to take advantage of this offer need to present their disability passt at one of the circulation desks.

Would you like to order books and articles which we do not have at our library? Then you can make an interlibrary loan order online through Gemeinsamer Verbundkatalog GVK (i.e. Common network catalogue).

If you cannot find the desired literature in the databases of the GBV or if an online order is not possible, you can make an order in the conventional way using a red interlibrary loan card. Please pay the interlibrary loan fee of € 1.50 at the circulation desk. If your order cannot be accomplished inland, if you desire, we can acquire the literature for you also from international loan sources. For this additional costs may incur. The information departments on site can provide more information.
