Currently the TIB/UB has a full list of electronic theses of the LUH, but only a partial selection of electronic theses from other universities.

For your search you can use our partial catalogue online resources.

Dissertations and habilitations from the LUH are available in electronic form as PDF files. You will require Acrobat Reader from Adobe to view them. You will find previously published electronic dissertations and habilitations in the catalogue.

You will find virtually all other German electronic theses at the repository library, the Deutsche Nationalbibliothek (i.e. German National Library)

Dissertations from abroad can only be acquired to a certain extent, since publication obligations are handled differently from country to country. Available dissertations are listed in the online catalogue and can be researched and ordered there. The TIB has a relatively large number of American dissertations, the majority of which are available on microfiche. These are not listed exhaustively in the online catalogue. Older American dissertations must be researched in the database "ProQuest Dissertations and Theses 1861 -". Using the order number it can be checked whether the searched-for dissertation is available in the library.
