SFX - We simplify your literature research!
Up to now, after the research in a bibliographic database, you had to query other sources such as the Electronic journal library, the library- or the network catalogue or document delivery services in order to get the required document. These addititonal steps are now taken over by SFX for you!
By the use of the linkresolver SFX the TIB/UB provides a fast and convenient way to get from a database bibliographic data to the corresponding full-texts.
How does SFX work?
In several databases you will find the following button
, which opens a popup menu that leads you to a variety of services:
Some databases display the following alternative button or a textlink
("Linkingservices TIB/UB") that will lead you to the services.
Which options/services does SFX provide?
Ideally you can link directly to the electronic full-text of a document (see above). If no link to a document’s full-text can be generated, the availability of further services is checked:

In case no full-text is available, the abstract to the requested article is offered if possible. Additionally, via a link to the catalogue of the TIB/UB, you can find the printed edition of the journal comprising the requested article. If this journal is not available in the TIB/UB, it is possible, via the link to the network catalogue GVK Gemeinsamer Verbundkatalog, to order the journal via the online interlibrary loan or to order a document via Subito. Depending on the services offered, the number of links in the menu will change. SFX is able to evaluate the existing options and to display only these.
