Off-campus access

Staff and students of the Leibniz Universität Hannover (LUH) have two ways to access our licensed databanks and electronic journals also off-campus, regardless of location and opening hours of the library.

1. The VPN service of the LUH

offers the possibility of accessing the campus network from remote locations. After a connection is made, you will be assigned an IP address from the university area. With this you will have access to nearly all of our licensed databanks, electronic full-texts and electronic journals. You will find all the information that you need to set this up at the homepage of the RRZN Regionals Rechenzentrum für Niedersachsen (i.e. regional computing centre for Lower Saxony):

2. Authentication over a library server

is only possible for a majority of the licensed data banks (not for the electronic journals) with a valid library card from TIB/UB. Membership at the LUH must be entered in the records. This entry can be carried out by the lending department after the necessary verification is provided. Access privileges for this service are checked at a login page where you enter the library card number and the associated password.

Attention: Due to abusive usage of licensed databases, this kind of registration is only avaible to employees of the LUH until further notice.

3. Off-campuss access to juris and Beck-online

Academic staff of the Leibniz University Hannover can get remote access to the databases Beck-Online and juris from their home adress. Please fill out the form for remote access and hand it over to the circulation desk of the Specialized libraries Königsworther Platz.
