Special collection and bequests at the site of the FBS
Documentation on educational politics of the SPD parliamentary group, Lower Saxony
This collection comprises approximately 200 files with contemporary historical documents and archive materials of the Lower Saxon SPD parliamentary group during its opposition time from 1976 until 1990.
It was bequeathed by Prof. Rolf Wernstedt as a permanent loan in the Specialized Library of Social Sciences. Letters, records, printed minutes and newspaper cuttings give evidence of the programmatic debates on education in school-, university- and educational politics in Lower Saxony at that time. They verify developments and methods of opposition work, the way in which public relations work was done for example, by town touring, and open new sources for biographic research. The files are arranged by keywords like educational politics such as school- and university politics, vocational work and adult education and can be used by means of tables of contents. An electronic search for key words is also possible.
In the database SPD educational politics, the folders are referenced and thus an electronic catchword search enabled.
