Training programmes
The German National Library of Science and Technology and University Library Hannover provide training for the trade of bookbinding and for occupations in librarianship. Depending on the requirements, there are various ways to enter the field of library work: a three-year training programme as “Fachangestellter für Medien- und Informationsdienste” (i.e. Media and information service specialist) (with library specialization), a university of applied sciences education in the area of library and information systems or a university education with subsequent library internship or respectively a comparative post graduate training.
