Practical semester/ gehobener Dienst (i.e. Upper-middle-level civil servants)

Training for upper-middle-level civil service at scientific libraries is carried out primarily in the form of a university of applied sciences education with integrated practical phases.
In the Bachelor course of studies for information management at the Fachhochschule Hannover (i.e. Hanover university of applied sciences and arts), for example, the 4th semester is reserved for the major internship.

The TIB/UB annually offers up to three internships between February and July for the internship semester in the context of the university of applied sciences study programme information management (focus on scientific libraries), or for comparative courses of studies. During the internship you will learn about the entire library (internship plan example), supplemented with lessons and database exercises accompanying the practical work.

We request that applications including curriculum vitae, school leaving certificate and summary of achievements, if applicable also with internship and work references, be submitted by the end of August of the respective previous year.
