Workstations
The TIB/UB offers you an attractive studying and work environment. There are 1,677 workstations, thereof 158 with computers available to you in our modern reading rooms.
WLAN
Students and staff of the LUH can receive access to the Internet over the Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) at the Hanover university.

Research workstations
Workstations are available to do research in the catalogue of the TIB/UB and other catalogues as well as for access to specialized databases and verified Internet sources.
Internet access: The TIB/UB provides free access to the Internet for exclusively scientific purposes. Access is limited to 1 hour per day. You must have a valid library card to gain access.
Universal workstations
Universal workstations offer MS-Office-2010-Pack and internet acess. Most of them are equipped with scanners and OCR software.
You can save your research results to a USB flash drive, print them out or send them per email.
The employees of our information teams offer assistance and help on our workstations.
Workstation for the blind and visually impaired
The workstation is available for all blind and partially sighted members of Hannover universities and colleges. Currently, blind and partially sighted users of other Hannover libraries can also use the workstation, to the extent that this fits in with the workstation's primary interest group.
Apart from that we offer
- Laptop reading desks
- Quiet reading areas and group study rooms
- A parent-child study room (FBK)
Our technical equipment includes
- Scanners
- Photocopiers and printers: costs currently 5 cents per page
- Reading devices and reader-printers for micro-materials
- Self-service checkout machines
Processing of data
All data which you find during your research can be saved, processed and sent via e-mail. For saving you have the choice between USB flash drive and CD-ROM.
The staff of the information departments are there to assist and help you.
